Well, why not?
Traveling does a lot for you – probably more than you ever thought. Here are just a few things that can benefit you, the world traveler:
Find Your Inner Compass
As any world travelers know, there will come a time when you can’t read the sign in front of you because it is in another language. That’s when you hone your map reading skills and lean on that 9th grade language class you have almost entirely forgotten about. Don’t worry. Sooner or later you’ll find a shop owner that speaks English and can set you on your way… but the time in between will be a blast.
Learn a New Language
There’s nothing like total immersion to learn a language. You’ll rely on body language, gestures, similar sounding words, and plan ‘ole guesswork, but it’ll be more fun than you thought it would be.
Find Your Altruistic Bone
Traveling the world and seeing the differences between poverty here in the United States and poverty elsewhere is a humbling experience. You may come home with a different perspective on how people live, what their needs are, and what you can and are willing to do to help.
